My name is Timothy Joseph Hutagaol, 蒂莫西 in Chinese, and I come from Indonesia. My academic journey in the field of Chemical Engineering began with my undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering and Technology in Tianjin University where I graduated in July 2024. As a recipient of the prestigious Chinese Government Scholarship, I had the honor of continuing my postgraduate studies of Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, number 1 top institution in China. The experiences I gained at Tianjin University not only enriched my academic knowledge but also shaped my professional development which I am happy to share my learning experience and express my gratitude to the professors, the university, and the Chemical Engineering community for their incredible support and guidance throughout my academic journey.

Tianjin University also ranks 28th globally speaks volumes about its dedication to providing high-quality education, which is also shown from international accreditation from The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). My learning experience at Tianjin University through academic teaching from professors and its immersive and the practical teaching laboratory approach at Tianjin University helped me build a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of chemical engineering. During my studies, professors did not just focus on theoretical knowledge, but they also made sure to emphasize its practical application, but also through university's state-of-the-art teaching laboratories provided the perfect setting for experimenting and learning from real-world applications of chemical engineering principles.

One of the most pivotal moments during my time at Tianjin University was my involvement in research. Under the guidance of Professor 高振国, I was introduced to the field of crystallization research. Professor Gao played a significant role in shaping my research skills and broadening in research where I had the opportunity to collaborate with Professor Gao and graduate students in conducting research, where I was also supervised for my undergraduate thesis. Starting with the basics of crystallization, I learned how to conduct laboratory experiments, analyze results, and refine processes. The hands-on experience in the lab, coupled with in-depth group discussions, enhanced my technical expertise. Furthermore, being able to contribute to ongoing research projects not only enriched my knowledge but also developed my problem-solving abilities in real-time experimental process and keep up research progress with current development.

My undergraduate thesis was completed sufficiently and the work of my thesis was later published in a prestigious Q1 SCIE journal, marking a significant milestone in my academic career. Having my research recognized in an international journal was an honor and confirmed the strength of the education and guidance I received at Tianjin University. Reflecting on my time at Tianjin University, I can confidently say that the education and also through the internship I received were instrumental in shaping my development toward industrial knowledge. Moreover, the global recognition of Tianjin University's Chemical Engineering program is a testament to the quality of education and the impact it has had on students like myself.

During my study abroad in Tianjin University, faraway from my mother, my mother provided me valuable advice and encouragement to do my best during my studies and when I achieved Outstanding International Student Ambassador of Tianjin University from 2021 until 2024 as Team Leader, and also as Tianjin University Outstanding International student. I am very proud to invite my mother to Tianjin University to attend my graduation and was awarded as Outstanding Graduate as the only Indonesian student representative.

As a graduate of Tianjin University and a proud member of the global Chemical Engineering community, I would like to extend my heartfelt best wishes to all those who are part of this dynamic and ever-evolving field. The future of chemical engineering holds immense potential, and I am confident that the continuous pursuit of knowledge and innovation will continue to shape the industry in remarkable ways. I hope to remain actively involved in my research field and I also encourage future generations of chemical engineering student to embrace the opportunities presented to them, to seek mentorship, and to always strive for excellence, as these are the keys to achieving success in both academic and professional life. In conclusion, my time at Tianjin University has been an incredibly rewarding experience that has provided me with the tools to grow academically, professionally, and personally. I will always be grateful for the education, mentorship, and support I received, and I look forward to the future as I continue to contribute to the field of chemical engineering.
